Putting security first

Project: Security fencing & gates
Client: Park Primary School, Stratford

At the heart of the school is a caring and cohesive learning environment where all students are made to feel safe, happy and valued. With the pupil population growing in recent years, security has become an increasingly important contributor to maintaining pupils' happiness and wellbeing.

Works involved new external security fencing and gates and the installation of a new high security door all completed well within budget and ahead of schedule causing minimum inconvenience to the premises and its occupants.

Oasis of calm

Project: New staff room
Client: John F Kennedy, Beckton Campus

JFK were looking for a staff room that would bring a sense of relaxation and calm for teachers, they turned to EPC to create their 'oasis of calm'. Given a blank canvas, we drew up plans to create a functional, comfortable and uplifting room from introducing relaxing decor and furnishing to a larger kitchen.

Installation of new walls, flooring, kitchen and decorations along with new electrics, heating and lighting provided the school with a wonderful relaxing and modern area, enabling the staff to enjoy their new room on the first day back for the new term.

Building classrooms for the future

Project: Formation of new classrooms
Client: Monega School, Newham

During the works, our site manager developed excellent relationships with the school and ensured that information regarding our work was regularly communicated to them and our site neighbours. We started by demolishing existing walls and formed a new entrance. We then erected new stud walls and ceilings forming two new classrooms within one area.

The completion of works involved the reconfiguration of the existing heating system, fitted new flooring and new decorations. The entire project was completed on budget and on time.

Creating comfort & atmosphere

Project: Community room refurbishment
Client: Nelson Primary School, Newham

Working in an occupied building was a challenge that was overcome with efficiency and diligence. Creating a new Community Room, removing existing walls, doors, ceilings along with mechanical and electrical items and forming a new, modern space with new walls, carpet, decorations and new radiators with minimum disruption was a substantial achievement.

Generating a sporting legacy

Project: New sports surface & multi-use games area
Client: Nelson Primary School, Newham

Vibrant play surfaces that morph provide subtle opportunities for external learning & play and create interest from the many aerial vantage points. Our remit was to form new cricket pitches with nets and the installation of a multi use games area for football and basketball using new, innovative materials that provided our client with the best possible facilities which were completed on time and within cost.

Workspace creation

Project: Formation of a new library
Client: Nelson Primary School, Newham

EPC delivered a full turnkey solution which included furniture design, manufacture and installation plus lighting, decoration, flooring, concertina doors and ceilings - ensuring a stress free project through full project management during term time avoiding disruption and the health & safety and well being of the pupils.
The flexible space included library storage, individual work booths, group work spaces, ICT space and media zones.

A fresh contemporary feel echoed the schools corporate image and ensured the new interior accommodated a number of teaching styles from individual learning to group work and peer assessment.

After stripping out the internal finishes, our mission was to convert the staffroom into a sleek, modern environment complete with flexible conference and dining furniture, IT point, easy seating, and plenty of storage. Comfortable, modern design seating provides an area for staff relaxation and informal meetings, along with new vinyl and carpet.

We completed the project within the summer break in time for the new term providing the staff with new surroundings of comfort ideal for relaxation.

Observing the future

Project: Replacement windows
Client: Hartley Primary School

Design and construction of new windows to the West elevation of the school was undertaken with extreme professionalism, starting with scaffolding then the removal of the existing timber box sash windows and replacing with new, UPVC sliding box sash windows including new internal decorations and external repairs to the building fabric.

The project was delivered on time and within budget with minimum disruption to the client and its neighbours.

Project: Design and refurbishment of the school house
Client: Salisbury Primary School

Working closely with head teacher Every Project Counts produced a beautifully finished refurbishment of the existing School House.

Our team handled all of the design and build processes including planning applications and full plans building control approval. The overall project has given the school a wonderful new facility.
