Brick Restoration, New Windows, Stonework & Guttering

Ranelagh Primary School

Every Project Counts were contracted by the London Borough of Newham to carry out the extensive repairs and restoration of the exterior of Ranelagh School including new double-glazed windows, stonework, tuck pointing and gutter repairs.

Because of the size of the project, it was programmed to commence at the beginning of the summer holidays and extend into term time up until December.

The whole southern flank of the school was scaffolded and then we commenced with the stonework repairs. This involved new stone cappings and plinths alongside decorative cornices.

Following the making good and replacement bricks the brickwork was cleaned with the specialist Doff System. The scaffold was then adjusted and the window installation commenced. This phase was carried out during term time and to accommodate the learning environment we introduced a phased installation of two classrooms at a time.

The whole project was completed within the submitted programme and to the original budget. The stakeholders were thrilled with the end result as was the team at the London Borough of Newham.
